The Bronisław Malinowski Prize (for the best book in the field of ethnological sciences, published in 2021-2022) - 3rd edition
We are announcing a competition for the best scientific book in the field of ethnology, socio-cultural anthropology, folklore and ethnomusicology published in 2021-2022. In this way, we would like to mark the unique contribution of these disciplines to the development of the humanities and social sciences.
The deadline for applications is June 16, 2023.

The jury of the Bronisław Malinowski Award of the Committee of Ethnological Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the best scientific book in the field of ethnology, socio-cultural anthropology, folklore and ethnomusicology published in 2020-2021 decided to extend the deadline for submitting books to June 15, 2022.

Viva Ethnologia. Jubilee of the 75th anniversary of academic ethnology in Toruń
On November 18, 2021, a scientific conference was held. In addition to summarizing the achievements and research conducted in this academic center, the speeches commented on the current fields of interest of Polish and world anthropology and the changing identity of the discipline.

We are happy to announce that the laureate of the Bronisław Malinowski Award for the best scientific book in the field of ethnology, socio-cultural anthropology, folklore and ethnomusicology published in the years 2019-2020 was Michał Mokrzan. The winning book is: Klasa, kapitał i coaching w dobie późnego kapitalizmu. Perswazja neoliberalnego urządzania, Wyd. Naukowe UMK, Toruń 2019.
The Jury awarded the distinction to Magdalena Lubańska for the book Praktyki lecznicze w prawosławnych monasterach Bułgarii. Perspektywa antropologii (post)sekularnej, Wyd. UW, Warszawa 2019.
The Bronisław Malinowski Award is given by the Ethnological Sciences Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
